I love my mom.

Me and my mother were sitting in the livingroom watching the program "Cold Case Files". There was a story about a case in British Columbia where some boys were murdered and the skull of one of them had been found by some loonie that kept it for several years before reporting to the police. DNA testing confirmed it was one of the missing boys.

This was our conversation, as the narrator began talking about the search for the rest of the boy's remains...

Mom: But how do they know he's dead?
Me: *looks at her oddly* What?
Mom: Well, they're looking for his body... but how do they know he's dead.
Me: *somewhat baffled* DNA tests proved it was his skull?
Mom: But, couldn't it have just been a part of it?
Me: *facepalm*

She realized a few moments later that she was being strange, at least, and we had a bit of a good laugh over that.

I love my mom.

hahaha...reminds me of a joke. A tourist is browsing around this shop of artifacts in Cairo and sees in a glass case a very expensive skull. The guy asks why it's worth so much. Shop owner says, "Ah, that is the skull of the great queen Cleopatra!" Oh, that explains it, the tourist thinks. Next to that skull, however, there's another one, similarly priced but smaller. "So who's skull is this?" the tourist asks. To which the shop owner replies, "Ah, that is the skull of the great queen Cleopatra when she was a little girl!"

Yeah, somewhere out there, there's a man with a very squidgy head sipping soup through a straw, and rubbing the craniectomy scar on his scalp absent-mindedly... ;-)

If people ever stumble across bits of my skull out in the woods, I hope to gods I'll be dead already... :)
